Webinar - Attitude, Behavior, Consequence: An Introduction to Behavior-Based Safety

"The process of behavior change always starts with awareness." - James Clear

It's cited throughout the "safety world" that roughly 90% of all workplace injuries are caused, if even indirectly, by unsafe acts and unsafe work practices. In Loss Control, our goal is to help Trust Members identify these areas of risk and implement corrective actions before an employee suffers an injury. Oftentimes, that corrective action involves changing employee behavior.

This webinar provides an introduction to Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), a practice that focuses on observing, analyzing, and modifying employee behavior to prevent injuries and improve overall safety. Topics to be discussed include common examples of unsafe acts, the reinforcement of behaviors, a supervisor's role in modeling safe work practices, an overview of safety audits utilizing BBS checklists, and the positive impact these changes have on an organization's safety culture.

There is no "one-size-fits-all" solution when it comes to improving upon your Safety Program, but placing a focus on behavior is a critical piece of the puzzle.
